Plague Locust Information
|
One of the big considerations for many farmers over the coming months is how to tackle spring's anticipated locust plague.
Since February, when the potential threat became apparent, Nufarm has been working closely with relevant national and state bodies of the Australian Plague Locust Commission (APLC) and industry and grower groups to assess and plan for this spring.
As a result, Nufarm will have three times more product available this season compared with an average years’ requirement for locust management and other requirements. These products include Astound Duo, Fastac Duo, Adonis, Regent and Fenitrothion. Essentially, we will have manufactured enough product to treat more than five million hectares for locusts in 2010.
The situation on the ground will be changing rapidly over coming weeks, so information will be regularly updated on this page. And as always, please contact your local Nufarm sales manager to discuss your individual needs.
