Recently New Zealand’s Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) reassessed organophosphate (OP) products. Following is a summary of the recent changes that affect Nufarm's existing product range from July 2015.

April 2014 Nufarm to close Auckland NZ manufacturing plant
Nufarm Limited announced the planned closure of manufacturing operations at its Otahuhu site in Auckland. It follows a review of New Zealand manufacturing activities and will result in the consolidation of manufacturing operations into its Laverton facilities in Melbourne. The closure of the Auckland plant is expected to take two years to complete.

March 2014 Nufarm New Zealand Manufacturing Review
Nufarm Limited announced the reorganisation of the company’s Australian operations, which also included reference to a review of the company’s manufacturing operations in New Zealand. A copy of the statement can be found on Nufarm’s website at www.nufarm.com.
The New Zealand review is part of a region-wide assessment of operational strategies to ensure that the organisation is competitive, efficient and responsive to market needs.

The ACVM have advised that they have agreed to revise label direction for all fluazinam products. The previous directions specified application up to verasion (45 days). They now allow application up to 28 days before harvest.
