Nufarm and Monsanto execute contract for ‘Roundup’ distribution and selective chemistry package
|
Nufarm Limited announced this afternoon that it has executed contracts with the Monsanto Company relating to the exclusive distribution of the Roundup crop protection product range and the acquisition of a number of other agricultural chemical products.
The signing of the contracts, which took place in Melbourne this afternoon, follows an announcement from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) this morning that it will not oppose the deal.
Nufarm will now assume responsibility for the sale and supply of Roundup – the world’s biggest selling crop protection product – in Australia and New Zealand.
Nufarm’s Managing Director, Doug Rathbone, said a number of sales and marketing and product support personnel will now transfer from Monsanto Australia to Nufarm.
The distribution agreement will add some $100 million in sales to Nufarm’s Australian business.
