Nufarm Americas Inc - USA originated from Australian-based Nufarm Limited which established Nufarm in the US in the early 1990's as a technical supplier of phenoxy herbicides. In 1997, Nufarm acquired the Weedar/Weedone phenoxy business and formulation facilities. Recognized and reputable brands, Weedar/Weedone added to the already extensive list of MCPA's and 2,4-D's and brought definition to Nufarms' product portfolio.
Continuing to expand into the US market, in 1999, Nufarm purchased Riverdale Chemical Company, a Illinois-based turf and specialty business. This acquisition propelled Nufarm into new market segments including golf course, home lawn, forestry and industrial vegetation management. As well, the purchase included a large eight-acre manufacturing and warehousing facility located in Chicago Heights, IL.
In May of 2001, Nufarm acquired yet another company, Agtrol International. This addition diversified the existing product range to include fungicides, plant growth regulators and other specialty crop protection products.
Today, Nufarm is an expansive organization that has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. Most recently Nufarm continued expanding its product portfolio by introducing the insecticides Nuprid and Mallet, two imidacloprid products for the Agricultural and Turf markets. It is our commitment, to ourselves and to our customers, to continue with this upward movement in order to offer innovative and comprehensive alternative-branded products.
