Nufarm Receives EPA Registration for Nuprid Insecticide
|
Burr Ridge, IL – Nufarm Americas, Inc. announces that it has been granted federal EPA
registration for a new line of insecticide products based upon the active ingredient, imidacloprid.
This systemic, low rate neonicotinoid insecticide provides broad-spectrum control of target pests
in potatoes, vegetables, tree and pome fruit, nuts and vine crops.
Nuprid™ is the brand name of the Nufarm imidacloprid products that will be sold and marketed within the agricultural industry, with two initial formulations: Nuprid™ 2F for soil applications and Nuprid™ 1.6F for foliar applications, similar to the competitive Admire® and Provado®formulations.
“Imidacloprid is a well known insecticide within our industry for treatment of major problems such as aphids, beetles, mealybugs, thrips, whiteflies, plantbugs and other troublesome pests in crops,” notes Dick Barrett, Vice President, Sales, Agriculture. “Nuprid™ is an excellent alternative that growers can trust to deliver long-lasting control of these and a wide variety of insects. Nufarm will solidly support it along with all our other quality products.”
Barrett highlights that “Our products have already undergone extensive research and trial work and the timing of the conclusion of our initial testing and EPA clearance worked out even better than we had anticipated. We feel very confident that Nuprid™ will more than meet the expectations of our customers.”

registrations so that we might maximize our ability to formulate products and react to anticipated changes in the market.”
Nuprid™ 2F is available in 4x1-gallon cases and Nuprid™ 1.6F will be packaged in 4x1-gallon
and 12x35 oz. cases. The state registration process is underway with several states having
