NUFARM AMERICAS INTRODUCES THREE NEW HERBICIDE PRODUCTS AT GREEN INDUSTRY AND EQUIPMENT EXPO

Emphasis on New Products but Successful Favorites Mallet and ProDeuce Share Stage
BURR RIDGE, IL. (October 25, 2007) -- Nufarm Turf & Ornamentals, a division of Nufarm Americas, unveiled three new herbicide products (booth #7028) at the Green Industry and Equipment Expo in Louisville. The three-day show opened October 25 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Nufarm offers 35 products that work quickly to help protect against damage caused by weeds, pests and disease. Several, including the highly successful Mallet™ and ProDeuce™, were on display.
“We’ve been looking forward to the Green Industry and Equipment Expo for several months. Any time you bring a new product to market, there is a certain level of anticipation and excitement that surrounds it,” said Brett Sutherland, U.S. director of marketing and business development for Nufarm.
“Our excitement level is naturally raised with the introduction of three new herbicide products: Dynamo™, Quincept™ and Spoiler™. They are unique in their own right and they give us an opportunity to fill a niche with our customers and distributors. Dynamo should help us in the pre-emergent market, while Quincept and Spoiler will draw attention on the post-emergent side. With a time-tested insecticide product like Mallet still going strong, and a rather new product like ProDeuce being received as well as it did, we think booth visitors will find a product for nearly any situation,” Sutherland said.
Information about all of Nufarm’s products, including those at GIE, can be found on the company’s newly updated web site, as of October 26. The site (www.nufarm.com/usto) offers a much broader range of information than its predecessor, with greater navigation capability and improved graphics.
Dynamo is Nufarm’s new dithiopyr product for lawn care operators and golf course superintendents. It provides an unsurpassed level of pre-emergent coverage but also offers early post-emergent control of many broadleaf and grassy weeds, including crabgrass and summer annuals such as spurge and oxalis. Dynamo is non-staining and has a broad window of applications to emerged weeds up to the first tiller stage.
Quincept is a multi-action and selective post-emergent that keeps crabgrass and other tough grasses in check, as well as for over 200 broadleaf weeds. With a full load of quinclorac, 2,4-D and dicamba, it packs a powerful kick that provides a perfect solution for dealing with late season weeds.
Spoiler is a highly loaded phenoxy three-way combination that delivers post-emergent control of tough broadleaf weeds. This product allows for rate flexibility, reduced herbicide persistence in the soil, and applications to tree trunks and within the drip line of trees.
Like all of its products, Nufarm’s newest additions can be applied through most standard sprayers and according to label instructions. These products are available for immediate shipping through normal distribution channels.
Mallet and ProDeuce are two extremely popular products that were on display in Louisville. Mallet is Nufarm’s proven insecticide that provides long-lasting control with just one application a year necessary to eliminate insect pests like white grubs, cutworms and billbugs in turf, and aphids, beetles, mealybugs, leafminers and thrips in ornamentals. ProDeuce, introduced less than a year ago, has quickly gained a reputation as a highly effective and long lasting dual-action herbicide. It combines the active ingredients of prodiamine and glyphosate to eliminate nuisance weeds found in cracks and crevices, along fences and foundations, and throughout gravel areas.
Razor Burn™ made its debut a year ago and professional turf and ornamental customers learned exactly what this post-emergent herbicide had to offer. The liquid, pre-mix formulation of glyphosate and diquat produces near immediate results and it does not discriminate. A broad spectrum of annual weeds, perennial weeds and woody brush are eliminated in just 24 to 48 hours. The quicker visual results have made customers sit up and take notice since they received fewer call backs for follow-up applications. Razor Burn also is easy to use as it requires no mixing and it has no soil residual activity.
Triplet® Low Odor and Escalade™ 2 are two weed-killing powers that round out the product mix Nufarm will promote at the show. Triplet Low Odor delivers outstanding results in controlling dandelion, clover, henbit, plantains and other broadleaf problems, and with less odor. Escalade 2 is an advanced herbicide that produces quick visual results, devastates more than 100 broadleaf weeds including chickweed and clover, and reduces callbacks with long-lasting control.
